‘Leather’ is a collective term for many different type of leather variations although the basic hide is the same different technique produce different finishes.
Because each type of finish requires a different cleaning process we usually visit your home and perform an Id test to identify the finish.
90% of leather used in upholstery is ‘pigmented’ this is sealed leather which is hard wearing and very resistance to soil and wear.
Problems can occur when the top coat becomes damaged by incorrect cleaning, sun exposure, or age.
This allow dirt and dyes from clothes to stain the leather and without corrective cleaning and the reapplication of the top coat the leather can be uncleanable, in this case we can offer a full restoration service where the top dye is replaced then sealed with the toughest finish available, this will leave the leather with a more superior hard-wearing finish than when it was originally made.
Without any difference to the look or feel of the finished item.
We have a fully equipped workshop where we can perform a full restoration service on any leather item inc;
Upholstery,
Clothing
Car interiors
Antique items including the repair of wood finishes & french polishing
In fact anywhere leather is used we can offer a full repair, restore and recolour, service.
We can repair any damage or offer a full panel replacement.
We have a time served upholsterer who can totally remove the leather then repair structural defect such as broken springs, sagging arms or cushions, he can take a cloth upholstered suite or car interior and replace it with leather of any colour.
We believe we are East Yorkshires most comprehensive leather specialist offering a collection of services which cannot be matched by any other local company
We can arrange a tour of our facility or if you wish you can observe your furniture being restored in our workshop
head grease or a drink spill on leather can be difficult to fully remove, we can apply a solution to draw out the grease but this can take up to 3 weeks of constant application to get to an acceptable level. or we can seal the leather and recolour the leather to a slightly darker shade which will hide the offending mark.
some aniline, or Nubuck or any absorbent leather will always show marks and stains but often this adds to the character of the leather.
we pride ourselves on offering hull & Beverley and the whole of East Yorkshire a premier leather cleaning and repair service, if we can be of any further assistance with your leather care problems please let us know
Hi henry, could i ask about nubuck & aniline leather, can stains be removed? I have tried some leather cleaner I bought from the betterware book on a mark made from my husbands head , (I think it's hair grease) but it has made the stain worse and bigger!! it seems that whatever i put on it just soaked into the leather.
